Day 01

The Driver will meet you at the Bandaranaike Airport, then drive to Kithulgala. We will take the road via Hatton with best scenic views.

White water rafting at Kelani river, doesn't require a higher degree of rafting skills or swimming experience, even for the people who are experimenting it for the first time, families and small group's can go for a thrilling ride down the Kelani River. This is because the rapids of Kalani River are graded as 2 and 3. Some of the rapids of the Kalani River are named with unique names such as Virgin's Breast, Killer Falls, Butter Crunch and Head Chopper. Kithulgala is easily accessible both from Colombo and Kandy. It is possible to arrange a Rafting Excursion to transport or without transport depending on your requirement.

Lankathilaka Viharaya, Kandy was constructed in the 14th century AD by King Buvanekabahu the 4th. It was revived later by Vijayabahu IV. Lankathilaka Viharaya, Kandy was made in the conventional Sinhalese way. Lankathilaka Viharaya is one of the popular tourist destinations in Kandy which is worth visiting. it was a five-storied building in Kandy was decorated with flowers, creepers, birds, animals and statues of gods. At the entrance of the building there are two huge pillars. Presently the pillars have broken down and reduced to a height of 58 ft. Initially, the height of these pillars was almost twice the existing one. It has an exclusive architectural design. It is very much different from the other buildings of its era. As a result it attracts a number of tourists from different corners of the world.

Morning relax at Tangalle Beach, The name of the town in Sinhala means "projected rock", a reference to the rocks which form the coastline in the town area, which contrasts with the sandy beach of the surrounding areas.

Tangalle is a regionally important fishing port and a centre of tourism. In the city centre there is an old Dutch fort, which is used as a prison today. The town also serves as a starting point for visits to the rock temple of Mulkirigala.

Day 01

Afternoon Jeep safari at Minneriya National Park, is a national park in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, having been originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The reason for declaring the area as protected is to protect the catchment of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank is of historical importance, having been built by King Mahasen in the century AD. The park is a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population dwelling in forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts. The park earned revenue of Rs. 10.7 million in the six months ending in August 2009. Along with Kaudulla and Girithale, Minneriya forms one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) of Sri Lanka.

Ancient city of Polonnaruwa, The second most ancient of Sri Lanka's kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first declared the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who defeated the Chola invaders in 1070 to reunite the country once more under a local leader. Polonnaruwa is the second largest city in North Central Province, but it is known as one of the cleanest and most beautiful cities in the country. The green environment, amazing ancient constructions, Parakrama Samudraya (a huge lake built in 1200), and attractive tourist hotels and hospitable people, attract tourists. Afterwards drive to Passikudah.

Free day at Passikudah Beach, recognized as one of the safest beaches in Sri lanka is very famous among the travelers who travel around the Sri Lankan tourism areas. It is located in the eastern coast of Sri Lanka. The nearest city is Batticloa. Throughout the year the beach is fully crowded with travelers from all around the world. Day 02

Drive to Sigiriya via Kalawewa.

The Avukana statue, is a standing statue of the Buddha near Kekirawa in North Central Sri Lanka. The statue, which has a height of more than 40 feet (12 m), has been carved out of a large granite rock face during the 5th century. It depicts a variation of the Abhaya mudra, and the closely worn robe is elaborately carved. Constructed during the reign of King Dhatusena, it may have been made as a result of a competition between a master and a pupil. Avukana statue is one of the best examples of a standing statue constructed in ancient Sri Lanka.

Afterwards drive to Sigiriya

Sigiriya Rock Fortress, The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters (660 ft) high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavangsha, this site was selected by King Kasyapa (477 - 495 CE) for his new capital. The Frescoes, Mirror wall, Water gardens, Royal pond, Site plan & the great scenic view are the main highlights of the site.

Dambulla Cave temple, It is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings.

Nalanda Gedige, This building was an ancient Hindu Temple constructed in between 8th to 10th century with dravidian architecture

Spice & Herbal Garden

Aluvihara Monastery, is the site where, in the first century BC, the Theravada Buddhist scriptures (Tripitaka) were first set down in writing. In spite of Aluvihara's historical importance, the paintings and sculptures that one sees in its cave-temples today are modern.

Matale Hindu Kovil/Temple

Temple of the Sacred tooth relic, is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the tooth relic of Buddha. Since ancient times, Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a UNESCO world heritage site partly due to the temple.

One day programme in the Knuckles mountain range is a conservation area of great importance and forms the better part of the Knuckles National Heritage and Wilderness Area. It is so named because its appearance resembles a mighty clenched fist that looms over the horizon. It is a popular destination for nature trails and walking safaris, due to its beautiful scenery and unique landscapes. The wildlife at Knuckles displays a high degree of endemic with many species being endemic not only in Sri Lanka but to this particular region itself. Thus it is a haven for botanists, researchers and nature enthusiast's.

Moonstone mine, Moonstone's are in the semi-precious category and are an important component of the Sri Lankan gem industry. It is believed by the villagers that this piece of land, around an acre in extent, is blessed by the moon. The finest are bluish in colour and are found in high concentrations in heading inland 7km to Mitiyagoda, between Ambalangoda and Hikkaduwa.

Boat Safari at madu river, Madu River or the Madu Ganga is one of the natures fascinating creations off South West coast in Balapitiya. Madu Ganga is a lagoon with hundreds of islands providing an idyllic setting for a well spent holiday and loads of authentic traditional settings. It may be one of the last remaining tracts of pristine mangrove forests in Sri Lanka.

Colonial Galle Fort/Dutch Fort, in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards. It is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument, which even after more than 423 years maintains a polished appearance, due to extensive reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka.

Sea Turtle Hatchery/Farm, The "Sea Turtle Farm & Hatchery" is a non - profitable organization which is maintained for the survival of Sea Turtles for the next generation. There are five varieties of Sea Turtles found in Sri Lanka, namely Olive Ridley Turtle, Loggerhead Turtle, Green Turtle,Hawksbill Turtle and Leatherhead Turtle.

Afternoon Jeep Safari at Udawalawa national park, The National park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir. The reserve covers 30,821 hectares (119.00 sq mi) of land area and was established on 30 June 1972. Udawalawe is an important habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan Elephants. It is a popular tourist destination and the third most visited park in the country.

Rawana water fall, is a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka. It currently ranks as one of the widest falls in the country. This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in height and cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop.

Nine Arch Bridge, This massive bridge is built entirely of solid rocks, bricks and cement without using a single piece of steel. The bridge was finally commissioned in 1921.

Visit some highlights in Negombo, which offers some of the best beaches on the west coast of Sri Lanka, and draws tourists who stop over for a day on their way to or from the airport. Some quiet stretches of the beach are maintained by the tourist hotels, while others are always busy with fishermen and their equipment. Water-sports and diving are also popular among visitors, with a few well-preserved coral reefs and a 50-year-old shipwreck (Kudapaduwa) that serves as an artificial reef for many varieties of fish. "Mora Wala" and "Beach Park" of Negombo are also very interesting places among visitors. There are also local handicrafts, batiks and jewellery boutiques on the beaches and the shops in the city.

Day 02

After the breakfast drive to Dambulla via Kalawewa

The Avukana statue, is a standing statue of the Buddha near Kekirawa in North Central Sri Lanka. The statue, which has a height of more than 40 feet (12 m), has been carved out of a large granite rock face during the 5th century. It depicts a variation of the Abhaya mudra, and the closely worn robe is elaborately carved. Constructed during the reign of King Dhatusena, it may have been made as a result of a competition between a master and a pupil. Avukana statue is one of the best examples of a standing statue constructed in ancient Sri Lanka

Afterwards drive back to Kandy

Dambulla Cave temple, It is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings

Early morning breakfast and drive to Sigiriya, The most visited UNESCO world heritage site in Sri Lanka.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress, The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres (660 ft) high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavangsha, this site was selected by King Kasyapa (477 - 495 CE) for his new capital. The Frescoes, Mirror wall, Water gardens, Royal pond, Site plan & the great scenic view are the main highlights in the site.

Afternoon Jeep safari at Kawdulla National park, is a national park on the island of Sri Lanka located 197 kilometers (122 mi) away from the largest city, Colombo. It was designated a national park on April 1, 2002 becoming the 15th such area on the island. During 2004-2005 season more than 10,000 people visited the National Park, generating an income of Rs.100, 000 from entrance fees. Along with Minneriya and Girithale Birdlife have identified Kaudulla as an Important.

Afternoon Jeep Safari at Udawalawa national park, The National park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir. The reserve covers 30,821 hectares (119.00 sq mi) of land area and was established on 30 June 1972. Udawalawe is an important habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan Elephants. It is a popular tourist destination and the third most visited park in the country.

Early morning visit,

The Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a national park and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. It is of international significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The hilly virgin rainforest, part of the Sri Lanka lowland rain forests eco-region, was saved from the worst of commercial logging by its inaccessibility, and was designated a World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 and a World Heritage Site in 1988. The reserve's name translates as Kingdom of the Lion.

The reserve is only 21 km (13 mi) from east to west, and a maximum of 7 km (4.3 mi) from north to south, but it is a treasure trove of endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.

Drive to Hikkaduwa On the way visit,

Colonial Galle Fort, in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards. It is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument, which even after more than 423 years maintains a polished appearance, due to extensive reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka.

Hikkaduwa, is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka located in the Southern Province, about 17 km north-west of Galle. Arranged around the heavily trafficked main Galle to Colombo road which runs mostly parallel to the shore, Hikkaduwa's beach and night life make it a popular tourist destination. A well-known international destination for board-surfing, the town was featured in an episode of Anthony Bourdain's television show No Reservations. And Hikkaduwa is a main City that gains Tourism income to Sri Lanka. Many tourists visit Hikkaduwa as there are so many things they can enjoy there.

Morning drive to Airport or Negombo beach On the way visit,

Moon-stone mine, Moonstone's are in the semi-precious category and are an important component of the Sri Lankan gem industry. It is believed by the villagers that this piece of land, around an acre in extent, is blessed by the moon. The finest are bluish in colour and are found in high concentrations in heading inland 7km to Mitiyagoda, between Ambalangoda and Hikkaduwa.

Ambalangoda Mask Museum/factory, The museum is designed to introduce into the richness of the mask tradition of Ambalangoda and to strengthen this cultural heritage. The museum, the workshop and the small library (containing all available anthropological literature on mask performances) may serve as a centre for traditional arts and crafts and for research as well.

The Sea Turtle conservation project is famous for its turtle hatchery operated by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. It was established in 1981 to protect Sri Lanka's turtles from extinction. The hatcheries pay fishermen for eggs that they collect at night along the long sandy beach. Although October to April is the main laying season, some eggs can be found at Kosgoda throughout the year.
